If you've landed here today, you've probably been doing some reflecting on your life. You might be thinking about your personal development and how you'd like to continue to grow. You might be wondering what you're doing with your life. You might be overwhelmed with the bad news that bombards us daily and you're not sure where you can make a difference. Or you might be really stressed and you're looking at options for getting some help. No matter the reason, I'm so glad that you're here.
I'd like to introduce myself and share with you what I do and why I do it, and why it just might be a great idea for us to work together. I hope that you're somewhere comfortable, with your favourite beverage to hand.

I've been working in the helping profession for as long as I've been an adult. I qualified as a social worker at 22, with just enough life experience to know that the world isn't always a safe place, but with an almost limitless passion for wanting to make it better. Despite my good intentions, I was still green and inexperienced at the end of the day. It took many years to develop any semblance of decent skills that would make me qualified to help a child or another adult to make positive changes to their own. It was hard fought, and I found myself burning out again and again.

At 30, I packed up my life and moved from my home country of America (I know, I know, I know--don't even say it! We're not talking about THAT right now) to the UK. London, to be precise. I took up a new job which I also knew would burn me out in no time, but with the proviso to myself that relocating to a new country would open up new opportunities and experiences that I needed after being stuck for so long. Thankfully, I liked it here and decided to stay--having moved on to a less stressful job shortly afterwards and just enjoying a completely different life.

I also became a mother along the way, and have one gorgeous 8-year-old daughter. What I thought I knew about parenting as a social worker, I learned much deeper as mum. It's bloody hard work, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Eventually, I realised that I wanted to shift my focus away from traditional social work roles and like a handful of colleagues before me, decided to go into coaching. Although it's not technically a regulated industry--anyone can call themselves a "life coach", I wanted to have some additional training under my belt before I started charging people money to work with me, and that's how I found One of Many Ⓡ. I trained under their certification programme and will next be pursuing my International Coaching Federation (ICF) accreditation. (All this just so you know that I'm serious about my profession and making sure that I give my clients not just the best value for money, but to provide them with support that makes a genuine difference in their lives.)

I believe that the pace of our modern lives is not really sustainable. So many of us keep running on fumes, doing everything for everyone. And I also believe that women in particular have a huge role to play in shifting the world toward a better future. I want to empower women to increase their impact in their corner of the world, no matter how big or small.
How do I know I can make a difference for YOU? Well, to be perfectly honest, that's entirely up to you. I've got some pretty amazing tools to share which I know work because they've changed my life, and the lives of many women I'm now privileged to know. But coaching isn't for everyone and I certainly have colleagues who could offer you something similar. If you're looking to get a better handle on your stress level, develop more confidence, and to really start living your life with purpose, do get in touch. If I feel we're not the best fit, I will let you know and connect you to another excellent coach who will fit better with you and your intentions for the future.
My specialities include complicated family dynamics (including actual trauma--remember I've spent many long years as a social worker supporting families who were really struggling and who had been through a LOT in life!), parenting, self-esteem, and anything related to adoption and fostering.

I hope to share some of the tools I've learned here in the blog so that you can get a taste of what I can offer you in 1-1 or group coaching. Sign up for my email list here so that you know what's new in this blog, and when I have special offers on. Although I'm based in the UK, all of my services are online, so it doesn't really matter where in the world you are.
Whether you're here out of curiosity, you just want to check out my freebies or you are thinking about investing in your personal development, thanks so much for visiting. Feel free to introduce yourself in the comments, or send me a personal message.
Love,
Christine
